Bamboo Talk Umbrella Wins German Design Award 2016 Special Mention
(Winning an international design award three times in four years)
Following its wins at the German IF and Red Dot Design Awards, the "Bamboo Talk" series of cultural gift umbrellas has once again won the "German Design Award 2016 Special Mention" for its outstanding design concept and unique appearance. This is the third time in four years that the Bamboo Talk umbrella has been awarded an international design award.
The German Design Award is presented by the German Design Council. Participation is not self-nominating; companies or individuals must be nominated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Only products that are both "innovative and have market potential" can be shortlisted, and the product must have already won national or international design awards (such as IF, Red Dot, etc.) to be eligible for nomination. The nomination criteria are very stringent, much stricter than other international awards, and it is therefore known in the design world as the "Award of Awards".
